Wes Adams
Wesley "Wess" Gordon Adams, 74, of Co. Rt. 46 died at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown on June 25, 2014 following a lengthy illness.

Born on July 18, 1939 in Watertown, NY, he was the son of Raymond and Ethel Sibley Adams. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1957.

Wess served in the US Navy as a Corpsman from 1957 to 1961, working along side Dr. Stryker in the orthopedic surgery and attended St. Lawrence State Hospital School of Nursing, Ogdensburg in 1962.

He married Debra L. Manning on December 6, 2002 with Rev. Bryan Koyn, officiating.

Wess was a shop foreman at Cheney Tire, Watertown, NY for twenty three years.

He was Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services deputy coordinator and a long time member of the Theresa Fire Dept. and Theresa Ambulance Squad. He also served as a past president of the Jefferson County Volunteer Fire Chiefs and Firefighters Association, a second vice president of the Northern New York Volunteer Fireman's Association, and a member of the New York State Volunteer Fireman's Parade and Drill Team Captains Association and Regional Emergency Medical Council.

Wess enjoyed judging parades each summer for the local fire departments, being part of the medical emergency community, liked to travel and take long rides, NASCAR, telling stories of his youth spent on the St. Lawrence River, spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Debra a step daughter, Jamie Watson and her husband, Corey of Ontario, NY two sons, Andrew of Ohio and Thomas of Kentucky a daughter, Nicole of Three Mile Bay, NY one brother one sister mother and father in law, Joyce and Charles Manning, Redwood several grandchildren friends, Bert and Terry Snyder, Copenhagen a special "son", Kaishmer Bigda, Copenhagen.

His parents, two sons, Paul and Dale, a brother Raymond Adams and a great granddaughter all died before him.

A Celebration of Life will be from 6 pm to 8 pm on July 18, 2014 at the Theresa Fire Hall, with Sam Lundy, Chaplin for the Northern New York Volunteer Fireman's Association, officiating. Arrangements are with Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Inc., Theresa, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wess's name to the Theresa Fire Dept or Indian River Ambulance Squad.
